1. Acceptance

By accessing or using NearWise ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of service

NearWise is a nearby services discovery application. It uses your device's location (with your permission) to surface ranked lists of nearby places — cafés, pharmacies, grocery stores, parks, and more — using data from OpenStreetMap and optionally Google Places.

Place information (opening hours, addresses, ratings) is sourced from third parties and may be inaccurate or out of date. Always verify critical information (e.g., pharmacy hours during an emergency) through official sources before relying on it.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 15 years old to create an account. If you are under 15, you may use the app without an account in guest mode. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 15.

4. Your account

• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
• You may not create accounts on behalf of others without authorisation.
• You may delete your account at any time from the Account panel inside the app.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or circumvent the Service's security measures
• Submit false, misleading, or abusive content
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Use automated means to access the Service at rates that impose unreasonable load

6. Location data

Location access is optional. Granting it enables real nearby results; denying it shows demo data. Location is used only for searching and is never stored on our servers. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

7. Third-party services

NearWise relies on third-party data providers including OpenStreetMap and Google Places. Place accuracy, availability, and completeness depend on those providers. We make no guarantees about the accuracy of third-party data.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of place information, or uninterrupted availability.

Do not rely solely on NearWise for emergency navigation, medical information, or safety-critical decisions.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, NearWise and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of or inability to use the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

10. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, at our discretion and without prior notice. You may stop using the Service at any time.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in an updated effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Norway.
